Is it legal in Pakistan to keep employees original documents for security?
I worked as an educator in a private school. While signing 1 year contract with them they asked for my original documents as security. they did not gave me any kind of training.
I was stupid enough to give them my original degrees.
after working with them for 3 month, because of some reason i left my job. Now my employer is not returning my documents and using them to blackmail me. He is keeping my 1 month’s salary and want me to pay more to get my degrees back.
Does Pakistan’s Law give authority to anyone other than me to keep my original academic documents?
If i somehow can take a legal action against him please do let me know.

NO such Employer has power to retain your original documents, as per agreement you may leave your job with one pay or one month notice.
you may directly file a complaint before police, it could be theft FIR of documents or you may call it blackmailing and extortion money.
