Question :

I had an employment bond with a bank which was taken over by another bank when I resigned. I was told that we will settle your bond with your current bank. Upon resigning and joining I was told that the bond money will be given to me as signing bonus and that I will have to sign a two year bond. There is no mention of the bonus or bond in my employment letter. It was another bond I signed on my first day. Now I wish to resign and the second bond says I have to pay back the amount immediately. Can the bank send me legal notice for this? I also don’t wish to continue in banking altogether.

Answer:

  1. yes, bank has right to file a recovery suit against you or at start may send a legal notice .
