Please be informed that under the relevant family laws of Pakistan, there is no requirement to establish specific grounds for Khula. A wife may seek Khula as a matter of right; however, she is obligated to relinquish her dower (Haq Mehr) or any part thereof as determined by the court. Our legal team will file the Khula case on your behalf. The process typically takes 30 to 45 days to complete. Your personal appearance before the Family Court will be required once during the proceedings. The required documents for initiating the case are as follows: 1. Copy of the Nikkah Nama (Marriage Certificate). 2. Copy of the wife’s CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card). After the issuance of the decree of Khula by the Family Court, it will need to be submitted to the concerned Union Council. The Union Council will then initiate the mandatory reconciliation process, and upon its conclusion (usually within 90 days), a Divorce Certificate will be issued. Should you require further details or wish to discuss the matter with our family law expert.
