Question :

amendment of correct age in our Nikkah Nama
Dear Concerned,
I want to get:
1. computerized Birth Certificates for me and my Wife and
2. amendment of correct age in our Nikkah Nama.
We both have our matric and other certificates to prove our date of births, but don’t have the traditional old Birth Slips which were used in those days.
Can you please guide us the process which I have to follow in order to fulfill both requirements?
Also please mention the time this procedure will take and approximate charges?
Thanks in advance.

Answer:

  1. You can obtain an old birth certificate from the birth records maintained by your Municipality or relevant Union Council. However, if the records are unavailable, you can apply for a new birth certificate. For immigration purposes, it is important to ensure the certificate is issued according to legal procedures. Avoid obtaining it directly, as this could complicate the immigration process. There is a lawful procedure for the late issuance of birth certificates, which should be followed. If you need amendments to your birth certificate, you can file an application with the relevant city collector or pursue the matter through a civil suit in the appropriate civil court. If you haven’t yet submitted your case to the immigration authority of the concerned country, there might be other options we can explore to save you time and effort. It would be best to discuss the matter further. Please feel free to contact us by phone at +92 321 4610092, email, or visit our office for legal consultation.
